Do Jinn Marry & Reproduce?

It is apparent that the jinn do have sexual intercourse. To prove this, most of the scholars refer to the description of the spouses in paradise. Allah says concerning them,

  • Therein are those of modest gaze, whom neither man nor jinn will have touched before them. (55:60)
  • And We created you in pairs. (78:08)
  • Glory be to Him, Who has created all the pairs of that which the earth produces, as well as of their own (human) kind (male and female), and of that which they know not. (36:36)
  • And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride. (43:12)
  • And of all things We created two mates; perhaps you will remember. (51:49)
  • And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female. (53:45)

Other than the above, there is one weak narration relevant to this subject. Despite the fact that it’s chain is not so strong and is in fact a weak narration, most people seem to believe in it.

“The jinn have children in the same way that the sons of Adam have children, but theirs are more in number”

This hadith was related by ibn Abu Haatim and Abu al-Shaikh in al-Udhma, on the authority of Qataada.

Despite the above, there still are people who deny this opinion. Some of them are at a point that there are different types of jinn – Some who reproduce and die, while others do not die nor reproduce. But there, however, has been no proof for this. In fact, every Jinn has to die, and will be held accountable for their actions.

And Allah knows Best.

Assl. pls how can i deal with powerfull jinn that possess human. becouse some possess person whe you recite qur’an onto them they will either recite with you or no sing of benefit.

    • Muhammad Ali says:

You have to have a strong faith and believe that Allah is With you. Having that strength you can face any demon. However, if you wish to force him out of the body, you may have to hit the should of the possessed person. When Jinn manifest themselves inside a body, they are like newly born babies, who will cry even when you tap them gently. So jinn are likewise vulnerable to slight taps on the arms. Thus it is safe to slap the side of the arm of the possessed, in order to exorcise the patient.
